Elementary Projects
Completed in support of the Simmons Graduate School of Information Science Practicum requirements, the projects below focus on Technology, Diversity, and Reader's Advisory.
Technology
This video, intended for a first and second grade audience, features third grade students modeling appropriate behavior for browsing and borrowing in the school library.
Diversity
In support of Hispanic Heritage Month, this project informed students of the event and promoted the library’s resources. The project consisted of several parts: two information and book displays in the library and front hallway of the school, a Resource List of supporting titles in the library’s Destiny catalogue, and a blog entry advertising the library’s holdings and providing useful links to helpful websites.
Reader's Advisory
The following blog entry and display were created in an effort to highlight the library's collection of Intermediate titles, which help students to transition from Early Readers to more advanced Fiction books.
